Illinois dispensary business nuEra announced their partnership with Jeppson’s Malört and the uniquely Chicago product they created just in time for 4/20.
It’s called the Chicago HIGH Five, a spin on the Chicago Handshake — the Malört and Old Style shot-and-beer combo popular at dives. According to a news release, starting on Wednesday, April 16, the THC-infused shots will be available at all nuEra locations and scattered across other Illinois dispensaries for $6 for a 10mg shot and $14 for 25mg.
No, the shot doesn’t contain both THC and alcohol. Not only would that be crazy, but it’s also not permitted by state law. The news release promises nuEra’s shot “faithfully replicates” Malört’s flavor. They opted to call it “herbaceous.” Some would call it sweaty socks. Some would call it ambrosia. Who’s to say who’s accurate? NuEra suggests taking the shot straight or mixing it in a cocktail.
