The world-famous Walnut Room at Macy’s in Chicago’s Loop will open the highly competitive reservations for its 118th holiday season this week.
Walnut Room is the first and longest-running restaurant to open in a department store, featuring Circassian wood paneling and Austrian chandeliers in a 17,000 square foot dining room.
The restaurant’s reservations for the 2025 holiday season open Thursday, Sept. 25 at 9 a.m. and are available here.
Located in the Macy’s at 111 North State Street in Chicago’s theater district; the Walnut Room has been a staple holiday tradition for Chicagoans since opening in 1907.
The Great Tree will be lit from Nov. 1 through Jan. 11
A full holiday menu will be posted on Thursday when reservations open, however, the Walnut Room has announced it will include traditional holiday favorites like Mrs. Hering’s chicken pot pie.
For those unable to score a reservation, a limited number of high-top seating is available at the bar for walk-ins, with full menu availability, according to the Walnut Room website.
