Looking to boost sales this holiday season, Toys “R” Us is once again opening new stores.
The toy retailer announced on Oct. 16 it will open more than 30 locations in the U.S. for the winter holiday season, including eight flagship stores and more than 20 temporary seasonal shops.
Toys “R” Us filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2017 and by 2018, the toy retailer announced the closure of more than 700 stores throughout the U.S. Over the years, Toys “R” Us attempted comebacks under new ownership but none have provensuccessful. Most recently, the retailer opened a flagship location in Minnesota’s Mall of America in 2023, which remains open.

As part of the rollout, Toys “R” Us is opening eight new permanent flagship locations and more than 20 temporary seasonal holiday shops. Here’s a look at the locations.
Toys “R” US has a new permanent fixture store in Chicago Premium Outlets – 1650 Premium Outlet Boulevard in Aurora, Illinois. It will be open year round.
