Applications are open for residents and bands who want to participate in PorchFest in Chicago’s Lakeview and Roscoe Village communities this year.
PorchFest Lakeview is first, to be held from Sunday, May 31, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The boundaries are Grace Street on the north, Wolfram Street on the south, Racine Avenue on the east, and Ravenswood Avenue on the west.

Another PorchFest event is set for 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 28, in Roscoe Village — between Addison Street on the north, Wellington Avenue on the south, Ravenswood Avenue on the east, and Western Avenue on the west.
For the event, homeowners volunteer their porches for live music acts. The Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce coordinates the performances and accommodates hosts’ preferred musical artists and friends, but asks homeowners and musicians not to coordinate performances themselves.
There are separate sign-up pages for each PorchFest event.
Musicians can perform a 45-minute set, and will have a 15-minute period between sets to take down and set up. Musicians can take donations during their setup, and there is also a ticket fee for visitors to receive an event map with porch locations and showtimes. The artists will receive 50% of the ticket fees.
Musicians must bring all their own equipment.
The deadline for musicians to register for either event is Friday, April 3.
Tickets for the events are also now up for sale.
