Iconic New York Katz’s Deli will pop-up in Chicago at a restaurant in River North in advance of a hugely popular country music and barbecue festival taking over the United Center this weekend.
And while the event was originally planned for one day only — which is sold out — a second date has been added.
Katz’s Deli, the movie-famous deli from When Harry Met Sally, known for its sandwiches, soups and sometimes snarky service, is holding a pop-up event for two days at Bub City beginning Wednesday, according to an event page. Tickets to the pop-up are sold out for Wednesday, but are still available for Thursday, the event page says, with time slots available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The pop-up event will offer only one menu item: a Katz’s Pastrami Sandwich, along with a pickle, steak fries and choice of Dr. Brown’s Soda, organizers said, with tickets starting at $45 per person.
“This event is a pre purchase event only, limited quantities available,” the site said.
The pop-up, according to organizers, is part of an early kick-off to the Chicago country music and barbecue festival the Windy City Smokeout, which takes place at the United Center July 10 through 13.
The Windy City Smokeout, one of Chicago’s most popular summer events, features more than 20 musical performers along with BBQ from pitmasters across the country, including Chicago. Headliners playing at this year’s festival include Baily Zimmerman, Old Dominion, Kane Brown and Megan Moroney.
