While Chicago may be known for deep-dish pizza and hot dogs, the food festival Taste of Chicago proves there’s almost as much diversity in the city’s cuisine as the city itself. With more than forty participating restaurants and almost forty food trucks and pop-up restaurants, the opportunities and flavors seem endless. Food ranging from Jamaican jerk all the way to all-American wings makes this festival unique. If you decide to stop by Grant Park on one of the five days it’s taking place, make sure to buy a ticket so you can eat all the food your stomach can take!
This world’s largest food festival, though, has more to offer than just delicious foodstuffs. Taste of Chicago provides a one-of-a-kind experience with not only amazing eats, but free live concerts located at the Petrillo Music Shell. Artists run the gamut of hip-hop with the trio De La Soul to folk rock with band The Strumbellas. Ending on July 14th, Taste of Chicago provides bike parking at the perimeter of Grant Park and car parking at Millennium Garages.
Some new participating restaurants include:
- Lao Sze Chuan
- The Cookie Crate
- Buscia’s Bacon Buns
- Brazilian Bowl Inc.
- Yvolina’s Tamales
- Egg Rolls Etc.
- Dmen Tap
- Dog Haus
- Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams
- Pink Taco
- Whadda Jerk
Of course, staples like Giordano’s, Connie’s Pizza, and Chicago’s Dog House will be present.
