It was revealed yesterday that little-person, actor Jerry Maren passed away at the age of 98. Maren was the last of the surviving “Munchkins” from the 1939 classic, The Wizard of Oz. While he is best known at the middle “Lollipop Kid,” Maren’s career spanned to many familiar shows and roles including that of The Hamburglar and Mayor McCheese in McDonald’s commercials, appearances on “Seinfeld,” ”The Twilight Zone,” ”The Beverly Hillbillies,” ”Bewitched,” and more.
Over the years, 4′ 3″ Maren had made many appearances supporting and promoting, “The Wizard of Oz.” It was the role that was most special to him.
