The Chicago Public Library will be rewarding two authors its coveted Carl Sandburg Literary Award this year. George R.R. Martin, creator of “Game of Thrones” and Dr. Eve L. Ewing, the writer of titles such as “Ghosts in the Schoolyard: Racism and School Closings on Chicago’s South Side” have been selected as 2019’s recipients.
The prolific authors will receive their honors on October 10th at the University of Chicago. Game of Thrones is currently in its eighth and final season on HBO.
