Buying food is a necessity, but not all grocery stores are equal when it comes to selection or price. A new report from Bank of America and Merrill Lynch shows Whole Foods has the highest overall prices among all grocers in the U.S., and the least expensive products were found at Walmart.
Whole Foods has been working to lower prices since Amazon acquired the chain in 2017, but this research shows prices for the items in the center of the store were least competitive compared to other stores. As for other stores, they found Kroger prices were a minimum of seven percent over Walmart’s, and Sprouts Farmers Market prices were eight percent over.
