About

Cara Carriveau’s familiar voice has been heard on Chicago radio for decades. She is probably most known for her years on air at legendary rock stations WRCX (RIP) and WLUP (RIP). At WLUP she was news/sidekick with Kevin Matthews and then returned to host middays for almost a decade. She also hosted middays/afternoons at WTMX/WSHE for a combined 12 years prior to landing at her “bucket list” station, 94.7 WLS-FM. Cara could not be more thrilled to finally call WLS-FM home!

Being hockey mom, during her spare time you will often find Cara running the scoreboard and spinning tunes at her sons hockey games. A big fan of live music, she often frequents concerts, interviews artists at major music festivals and hosts many charity performances. She has emceed Farm Aid a few times, been the welcoming voice of Lollapalooza and has provided the phone voice and lobby announcements for the Rosemont Theatre since 1995. She has also hosted her podcast “Cara’s Basement” since 2007, featuring casual conversations with rock stars. When she’s not working, at a hockey game or a concert she is likely fixing things around her 100+ year old house. Her ultimate goal is to land a boyfriend who would like to help her fix her house and who also has a boat!
