The original lineup of Foreigner will team up with the band’s current members for a massive reunion show on August 4th in Sturgis, South Dakota at The Sturgis Buffalo Chip. The band’s legendary early members — including frontman Lou Gramm, Dennis Elliott, Al Greenwood, Ian McDonald, and Rick Wills — will join co-founder Mick Jones and the band “to rock through some of the best-selling songs from the band’s 10 multi-platinum albums and 40 years of enduring Top 10 hits.”
While last summer saw original members join Foreigner for a handful of surprise appearances, this summer’s show marks the first fully announced and ticketed reunion gig featuring all the members. Foreigner is currently out on the road with Whitesnake and Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening.
Lou Gramm told Pulse that taking the stage with his fellow Foreigner bandmates last summer was a best case scenario all around: “I know there’s been talk about this going on periodically over the last four or five years, but I was pleasantly surprised that this 40th anniversary is a reason to actually do it. The guys in his new band are terrific and they’ve helped us out in a number of ways and it’s been a lot of fun. The reception in Long Island for the first show we played was incredible.”
