Rogers Park’s Heartland Cafe closes after 42 years

Unfortunately, one iconic North Side cafe will not be open in this new year.  Heartland Cafe, which was located in a Rogers Park building that’s over 100-years-old, closed its doors for the last time on New Years Eve.  The building’s current owner kicked out the 42-year-old business due to the expenses that came with housing the restaurant.  The Heartland Cafe does not plan on staying gone forever and are currently looking for a new space for business.
