You can now tell Alexa to forget what you said

If you’re an Alexa user who’s worried about your smart speaker eavesdropping on you and collecting too much information, Amazon says that you can now tell Alexa to forget what you’ve said. As of yesterday (May 29th), if you say to Alexa-enabled devices, “Alexa, delete everything I said today,” it will erase voice recordings made from midnight that day until the moment you give the command.

Additionally, in a couple weeks you’ll be able to also say, “Alexa, delete what I just said,” and it will erase the recording of your most recent request. In another move to address growing privacy concerns around smart devices in the home, Amazon also announced an Echo Show 5 smart-screen device that comes with a physical cover for its front-facing camera.
